2. On the first burn, allow the wax to melt fully across the surface (around 2–3 hours) to avoid tunnelling.
3. Never burn for more than 4 hours at a time.
4. Always burn on a heat-resistant surface, away from draughts, curtains and anything flammable.
5. Never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep out of reach of children and pets.
6. Stop burning when roughly 10 mm of wax remains in the vessel.
